MIOB Network Meeting 2026
The MIOB network met in Berlin for two days of strategic dialogue and collective vision-building. As a European film festival network driven by its audience, we joined together to reflect on our shared identity, strengthen our commitments, and define our path forward together.
In February 2026, just days before the Berlinale, coordinators from across Europe engaged in constructive dialogue about our mission and the way we work as a network. Throughout a series of workshops, we explored key topics and asked some fundamental questions: What kind of festival network do we want to belong to? What are our shared responsibilities and expectations?
We discussed how the network communicates and coordinates, reinforcing the idea that our collective strength grows through shared expertise. We celebrated initiatives that reflect our values, such as the MIOB New Vision and In Shorts awards, which highlight the work of emerging talent in the European cinema industry. We also reviewed ongoing projects such as the Green Charter for Film Festivals and The Lab of Cultural, Creative and Festival Journalism, exchanging perspectives and refining our approach collectively.
This annual meeting was a space where the future of the network took clearer shape through teamwork. From France to Italy, Germany to Austria, Serbia to Lithuania—the MIOB network continues building stronger connections across European cinema festivals.
