For all film festivals willing to reduce their environmental impact
Green Charter for Film Festivals

The Green Charter for Film Festivals online platform is open and free of charge to all the film festivals willing to commit to becoming more sustainable, thanks to the support of Creative Europe's Media programme. Organised by MIOB – Moving Images Open Borders, the ongoing initiative invites festivals to track their consumption of transport, energy, food and waste, set their own goals, engage teams, the public, partners and institutions

The Green Charter for Film Festivals online platform is open and free of charge to all the film festivals ready to sign and follow the principles of the charter.

The goal is to monitor the environmental impact of film festivals in order to raise awareness among teams about the pollution generated by these events and encourage collective efforts to reduce it, with the objective of improving environmental performance year after year.

The data collected remain private unless they are made public. This tool is not intended to compare festivals with one another, but rather to track the progress of each festival over time.

To help festivals in their eco-responsible efforts, a forum is accessible for members to exchange tips, share advice, and discuss best practices.

A certificate recognizing the festival’s commitment can also be downloaded.

Many festivals have already signed the Charter: Arras Film Festival, International Classical Film Market, ThessalonikiInternational Film Festival, INTERFILM Berlin Int'l Short Film Festival, & more.
